I am a staff CNRS researcher in cognitive science at the Laboratoire de Psychologie Cognitive. I investigate the neural and cognitive mechanisms that allow speakers to produce language. Issues I am especially interested in include the processes by which speakers select the words needed to express ideas, and the processes by which the form of these words (phonology & orthography) is encoded.

This research is based on experiments conducted with healthy or brain dammaged individuals. We use classic methods of psychology (e.g. analysis of errors and response times) as well as brain imaging techniques (e.g. functional brain imaging and electro-encephalography).

Part of this work is funded by a grant from Agence Nationale de la Recherche (COGLEX: The cognitive basis of lexical selection)
